right all the W series had huge blocks in the rear. they did that to level the truck out because when the front axle is installed using the same springs as you would in a 2 wheel drive, the front rides much higher. so instead of re engineering all new springs for the whole truck they just added blocks to the rear. I have never seen any come loose in one. But I still would not put any in the front of one of my trucks. Just buy a dodge then you dont need to lift the truck. ;/)
