Not a weird statement at all. The addition of electric windows/doors is an addition of a dynamic and complex system.
Blocks on the front axle are a very simple and static addition that can be made to work with the proper engineering. That said, yes, it is easy to screw it up and many people do. Saying is is impossible to make safely is simply not true.
