In Virginia you are allowed to purchase used (original) plates and register them for antique vehicles. Our regular plates are white with blue stamped letters. Back in 1953 the state made the plates in honor of Univ of VA colors, dark blue background and light orange letters (numners in my case) This was for only 2 years I belive. I purchased a pair of these and they have the year of the plate embossed in them also. They look real nice on the PW.
