you might want to take the air cleaner off
and run it until it misfires then shut it off
and then see if you have vapor coming out
of the carb. then move the accel pump to see
if you have gas going in. If not then you have a fuel delivery problem
to check start at the gas tank fuel should
run out when you crack the outlet fitting
if not then the pickup is probably rusted
take an old piece of speedo cable to roto root.
old motors repair manuals have proceedures
on checking out all the electrical componets
just go step by step until you find the problem.
what is your battery grounded to ?
lots of easy things to check
