Maybe I'll try the fuel additive. I change my oil every 5000 miles with 5W40 valvoline synthetic, fuel filter every 10,000. When you are doing the u-joints, are you going to replace the axle seals? With 150k of heat cycles the rubber may not be as plyable as it once was and you run some risk of the seals leaking when you reinstall the axles. To get at the seals you have to pull the diff out of the housing. just something to think about, good luck with your repair.
