OK, so I talked further with the foundry & he can't do them any cheaper than $100ea bracket. He says in order to do them proper, he can't cast them from the original without hours of grinding & filing & the end product would just look like a home made bracket....bottom line..yes he could do it...but he won't.
He says the only proper way to do them is to build a pattern where he casts both a LH & a RH together & then cuts them apart. He started explaining what the pattern would look like & why it works but it made no sense to me, not having no real knowledge of the process.
Sooo...there's lots of other foundries in the world but I have no interest in bronze castings & he's the only guy doing small runs of Iron up here. I called a foundry in RI that does wax castings & I've heard great things about them but they want $220 per bracket :(
Anyway, we're a couple orders short to make it fly & so if someone else wants to take over the project & cast them in bronze or aluminum...I'll happily lend my originals as a pattern for a reasonable amount of time?
