I've used just about anything in a leaking jack. Hydraulic, motor oil, atf etc., AS long as it's flows relatively easy. Brake fluid can
sometimes stop a leak. I've had cavitation problems with P.S. fluid(NAPA brand} in cold weather and won't use it any longer in a p.steering system.
