For those of you considering changing out the generator for an alternator, this site makes it easy. You can get the wide belt pulley, bracket and heavy arm.

I used bracket GB-1 for a 60 amp GM two wire alternator and NAPA B47 industrial belt. The belt gets the alternator pulley nut just past the 6 blade fan for clearance. The bracket bolts to your existing generator bracket. Remove the gen. bracket, clean and inspect for cracks. It was an easy conversion.
