I've used this a number of times most recently on a 58 PG rear drum with a tapered axle. You don't need a lot of heat, a propane torch will do. Heat the nut to the point that the wax will wick in the threads. One of those sockets that grip anything will probably be the only way to get a hold on it now that it's rounded off. If you get it to hot the wax will burn, not enough heat to draw just heat a bit more. Trust me it works like a charm. The axle I did had wax drawn up 2 1/2 inches on the taper. Use the anti seize on the new lugnuts by all means.
