Spitfire heads only fit the long blocks. My understanding is they came on some car 251's originally. Some have also been found on 265's, but as far as I know were not original to the truck engines. It has been suggested they are slightly higher compression ratio, but higher than what, I don't know. Only way to know for sure what size engine is to measure stroke. Engine number will identify what size the engine was originally, but measuring the stroke will prove it.
