windshield frame repair

I am to the place where I need to think about glass for my '45 Dodge civilian pickup. I have a frame that I have derusted with electrolysis and now I need to fill the holes. I was thinking of using a small propane torch and filling the holes with solder. Will the heat be little enough that it won't warp the frame? I do have the epoxy that VPW uses but the solder idea seemed like it might be easier.

Any thoughts?
