YES!!! Go right over the local's heads and get to someone that might care. State Patrol is a good start too. My brother had a hit and run on his daughter's car, there was a witness, and the local town cops would not touch it. State Patrol made it go down quickly if for no other reason than they all have a certain ego and competition to do a job well and show up the other cops.
