the effective ratio changes. the mechanical ratio stays 4.30 rpm x 60 / trans ratio / diff ratio / tire rev = speed @ rpm or speed x trans x transfer case ratio(optional low range only in most cases) x diff ratio x tire revs / 60 = rpm. you can mess around several ways with these factors to get all sorts of # pick a tire size for desired operating specs etc hope this helps!
