I have made good progress today, but I am at a stopping point...

The worm gear cover is "stuck" to the cable drum shaft, with all the bolts out they turn together. I have removed the worm gear shaft and brake, so I can see the bull gear.

The bearing leg came off easily, I tried a few sharp blows against the drum with a 3 lb sledge and a wood drift; nothing is moving. Any ideas??
