I checked it out and Techtronic Industries owns both Ryobi and Milwaukee, which might explain why the newer Milwaukee tools look just like Ryobi ones except they're red. To make matters even worse, TTI ("Techtronic Industries Company, Ltd") appears to actually BE a Chinese company, not a US company outsourcing production to China. At least that's my conclusion based on the fact that their stock trades on the Hong Kong stock exchange. TTI also owns Homelite (which has been junk for 40 years in my opinion) and some vacuum cleaner brands.
I've got a bad feeling that whatever Milwaukee tools are right now in terms of quality, they're only going to get worse from here on out. Pretty soon, Milwaukee, Black & Decker, Makita, Ryobi, Delta, Rockwell, Porter-Cable, and all the rest are going to all be exactly the same tools made in the same Chinese factories, with the only difference being the color of the plastic.
