I was going to make the front a two piece
as I was concerned that long shaft might twist, but by this time I was tired of fabricating and decided to try the long one.
So far hasn't been a problem. It's definitely too long for a rear shaft at highway speeds.
Don't know top speed. The fastest I had it is about 75(once or twice). I regularly cruise at
about 65 on the interstates(about 1800 RPM).
The aux box I got off of ebay. I think it was a good deal as it was rebuilt and looked like new inside. It came with a new(in box)
shift tower plus mounting brackets. I fabricated rods out of all thread.
If you need a shifter for a two speed aux(possibly a three or four) you might try
looking at an old Mack with the twin stick.
If I remember correctly the aux shifter was
mounted on the top of the main and could possibly be used with a fabricated mount.
