Hey Daryl ,when I chiseled out that old bearing it was right at the end of the flange where the flywheel rides. I was going to do same when I installed the new "Spigot" Bearing., maybe go just a little further with it. I'll tell you what that hole goes a long ways into the crank, I was surprised!
