it can probably read a little higher with no damage. but not sure what would happen if yout tried to run it continuously way over 3K. If you liek the tach enough you could have it rebuilt as a 4K by one of the gauge rebuilders. (cant remember the outfits name) but that gets a bit expensive and you could pick up another tach for leass than doing a custom rebuild. Does a Cummins ever need to even see 3 K?
