He said the flat fenders were cheaper than bigger trucks so a lot of times they would stack overloads springs sky high, reinforce the frame and run duals. I bought a parts truck that had duals and the frame was reinforced. I had the rear drums off and the spindel was cracked. I vaguely remember him say they would make 6x6s by reinforcing the frame and take a spare rear axle and flip it for the third axle or maybe I dreamt that.
