I've driven my '61 TW with the 4bt swap for about 1000 miles. Since it is a nice sunny day and I need a new chainsaw, we drove the Townie. Stopped at the local gas station to fill up and check mileage. Previous owner had "adjusted" the pump and I've been playing with it trying to return it closer to factory settings. I was pleased to find I'm up to 22.4 mpg. That's triple what I was getting with the 360.
While fueling, several folks admired the old truck. I met a local whose father owned a '62. His dad passed 3 years ago, but his son wants to restore grandpa's truck. We traded numbers and I'll probably be helping with the restoration/swap. Life certainly is good.
