Recently the fuel pump in my 440 powered crewcab crapped out. After determining with a vaccume gauge that the old was not holding
pressure I replaced it with a new {not rebuilt}NAPA unit.Now my perfect starting,idleing and restarting 440 cranks
several times on cold starts, loads up during
warm starts and is getting 6 or 7 mph instead of 12-13.Do I need to readjust my carb and timing for a new water pump?Could a new pump cause these problems just do to higher more consistent fuel pressure?
Thanks in advance,
