58 W200 t-case question

Did the 58 W200 come with a single speed transfer case? My dad owns one and it seems that there is only three positions on the lever. 2H N and 4?. It is a single lever t-case. If it is a single speed, when in 4, is there a gear reduction? Thanks in advance for the help.
