rear axle on a dodge Ram 3500 / 2500

OK, so this one is a little off topic, but I think that this panel of experts could answer a simple Dodge question for me.
Is the rear axle model in a 1995-2000 Dodge Ram the same for both the 2500 and 3500 series?

Now I know that the 3500 has dual wheels and looks to be a little narrower (sans wheels) than the 2500, but is the the generic model the same, and oh by the way what is the model number?
