Rob,
If you are not an ebay member, sign up asap before the auction closes. In this computer world of ours, their fast sign up process took close to 1 full day to approve me for bidding. But, I was immediately approved to BUY their ebay magazine.
Check the sellers feedback by clicking into the Feedback Forum. Try not to buy from a seller with no feedback. I may be their first sale. If you win and you are dealing with alot of money, look into ebay's escrow services.
Many winning bids are placed in the LAST FEW SECONDS of the auction.
You can place your maximum bid and walk away from your computer. Ebay will automatically bid for you, up to your maximum bid.
Ebay will send an e-mail when your bid is confirmed, if you are out-bid, and if you win.
Look at the terms of payment and ask the seller detailed questions about the items condition. Also, know the shipping costs.
I have 64 successful purchases with some returns, (all handled professionaly).
Use good sense and enjoy.
Mark
