No, it is a later model than the Beech 18. Mine has a regular -although huge - tail. The 18 has radials, whereas the twin bonanza has geared Lycoming flat six engines, or flat eights in some later upgraded models. Mine has the smallest, GO-435-C2A engines at 260 hp each. Better on gas than the bigger ones and not much slower. I pay about $100 per hour just for fuel, but the radials probably burn more than twice that. A friend of mine owns a D-18, and is going to sell it because he can not afford to hanger and fly it. And he's an airline captain probably making twice my salary. Oh, well, I feel lucky just to own and fly my twin-bo, if only for a short time.
