Steve, the desoto engine is slightly larger than the dodge engine, but I don't know by how much, the dodge was the smallest of the three hemis with the desoto being in the middle of the three, the chrysler would be a tight squeeze if it would go at all, so it would be a good idea to check the overall diminsions to be sure. having said that, I once saw a 426 hemi in a ffpw once, but be aware that the chrysler engines are bigger and heavier than the 426's.
