Not LED but we use rechargable MagLights on our fire engines, pretty bright and last awhile. I think theres even LED conversions for them, I know there is for the mini mags. I got one of those and its pretty bright for a AA battery flashlight.
We also use Streamlight's Box lights. Bigger, but an adjustable head, and big body for stable sitting on something. Pretty expensive, but well worth it. Very bright, kinda more of a flood light, great for auto work. http://www.galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&style=SL032&cat=2835
