what cause the icing is infrared a term , reflected on a cooled or heated surface > when a high volume of air is speeding down a carb it accelerates cooling then frost forms on the exterior of the carb > once while setting up a carb on a Cab over ford with a big block i was standing right over the carb > it was 45 degrees out and when i looked in the thottle body i could see frost forming on the thottle plates > mind you its was humid > in fact i called another mechanic to take a look > on the gas (down draft carbs ) tractors i often fix i see frost constantly on carb where it attaches the mainifold till the tractor warms up > never seen one quit with ice on it though unless it covered the jets or openings ? ~ Copey
