Herb H. Hobi passed away suddenly Saturday, November 28, 2009, at his home of natural causes he was 66 .
Herb was born March 14,1943, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Herman and Clara Hobi. His family moved to Aberdeen, Washington, and eventually settled in Roseburg, Oregon, where Herb graduated from Roseburg High School. Herb graduated from Southern Oregon College, moved back to Roseburg where he fell in love with Susan Tomashek, who became his lifelong wife and best friend. They were married on December 28, 1968. Herb and his new wife traveled the world while Herb was a Navy pilot. They had their first son, Bradley in 1971 in the Philippians. They moved back to Roseburg in 1972 and had their second son, Blake in 1974. Herb was so enthusiastic about life! He especially loved his family, his Finny, his friends, his planes, boats and of course his power wagons and military rigs. He had so many more things to do, but he packed more living into each day than ten men combined. Everything he did he found a way to make it fun. He is loved, and will be missed, by more people than can possibly be mentioned and will forever be remembered as one of the happiest, strongest, honest men we will ever know. He is survived by his wife; his son, Brad and wife, Samantha; his son, Blake and wife, Caron; two grandchildren, Addison and Reid and two brothers, Homer Hobi and Robert Hobi. A Celebration of His Life will be held at the National Guard Armory at 111 N.W. General Ave. from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Humane Society
