it could handle the power fine it is very large but like paul says you have to get the right ratio for the diesel and I bet the ratio in that diff is too low for higher speeds. someone here might have a manual that gives the gear ratios for your truck. if you are going with those larger tiers then stock gearing might work out for you when using an overdrive transmission.
