My old "98 Dodge Cummins Quad cab long box 4 wheel drive 2500 was factory ordered with the one ton running gear. I was told that it had the frame, axles, springs and brakes of the 3500 with the exception of the dual rear wheels. It was a beast and still got 22 mpg on the road...a lot less in the sand or towing....
