Yes, that is sod. About 5-inches worth. You should see all of it that was shown in the photo before I cropped!
I have my cutting blade set 2-inches above the pavement, and I still tear up the yard when I get to the end of the concrete. Don't you just love it?
I guess it is not all bad. We get to kill two birds with one stone. Plow snow during the winter and cut sod for next seasons crop, all at once! ;^)
