a friend is looking for good m37 motor and transmission(420)

A friend here has an m37 that his mechanic installed a mazda truck diesel and transmission. It has 750 16 tires. He says it will barely do 25kph and claims it has absolutely no power. I´m going to have a look at it next week. I sold him my wm300 front end a while back. I´m guessing there is a real mismatch as far as the transmission goes, but I am no mechanical wizard. Seems like itwould have good power but no speed. Anyway he wants to put an original motor and transmission. He seems serious. If anyone wanted to quote prices I could pass them on.
