Which truck are you talking about? FFPW or Carryall? I'm a firm dis-believer in metallic paint on old military rigs. But I have always liked the USMC gloss green used on their civvy rigs.
And I really think the gloss industrial or marine enamels today are better than the one-coat-over-bare-metal that the factory used.
