If I remember correctly, that is a pretty big engine, at least in comparison to the power wagon engine bay. The reason he is able to cruise at 55 is more likely related to gearing than any added horsepower. Personally, my take on it would be to either be happy going slow, or choose a more likely and proven conversion.
