You're right. I wasn't thinking. Of course the gears could be cut either direction. I've never seen an L or R on a Garwood winch so maybe they're all the same. Don't know how that compares to the Bradens on PWs and M37s If the PTO has only one speed and the gear ratio is the same in each direction, it doesn't much matter.
