I would scrap or part out all the sheet metal from the hood back, get a '40's truck cab to install on it and build a short flatbed for the back. Make a great work truck. I think it would be way too expensive to take back to original. Ambulances do not seem to be very universally desirable. You would need to re-do the floor of the 2wd cab, but you can use parts out of the ambulance floor. Just my thoughts. I love the 3/4 ton ambulances myself. One of my favorite body styles.
