hey - i just remember that someone out there used a stock pedal to accomplish a backward pedal assembly. slick as whale poop. ill try and find a picture, but basically, you modify the pedal fulcrum point so that the push becomes pull. the stock pedal has the pushrod attached above the pivot, the modified pedal has the pushrod attached below the pivot--- you'll see.
