The glass bowl at the carburetor is actually part of the Carter fuel filter that screws onto the pipe threaded end of the carb seat (needle and seat assy). You can actually remove the whole filter assembly and run the fuel supply line directly to the seat with the correct fitting.
Those glass bowls show up regularly on ebay.
Junior
