Two sets of 3 rails would be the best but singles on each tire will work if you can fit them. I pulled an A train over Hood last winter in the snow and had to chain both directions. I only had to use singles on the way over since the pup was decked but I had to chain one drive axle with 3 rails on the way back. Unfortunately I only had one 3 rail in the bag and had to double up the singles on one side. That was tougher than putting on a 3 rail chain but it worked OK.
