According to the MSDSs, all the "Oxi-clean" products are mostly washing soda, with small amounts of other things added. It might be worth trying, for example, their "oxi-clean powder laundry detergent". The minor ingredients like surfactants, enzyme, and fragrance probably wouldn't hurt anything. and I did notice that their powder laundry detergent that doesn't say "oxi-clean" has sulfuric acid in it, which probably defeats the purpose of using it as an alkaline de-rusting solution.
