I guess we will always find ourselves in some conflict whether it is over foreign policy or interests, aggression against us or someone else. Guerrilla warfare is a difficult one to fight. There is no clear distinction of the enemy and it’s compounded by the inter mixing of civilians. If too much force/aggression is used, the world becomes less supportive, too little and we become less effective. It’s a difficult balance to maintain, an definitely adds to the length of a conflict.
