They look the same to most people for over 20 years of production, and when you add in the WWII trucks you have 38 years of trucks. Lots of people made a guess at the year at some point in the trucks life, and guessed wrong.
The WWII trucks are sometimes titled as the year they were sold to the public, making a 1942 truck into a 1954, etc.
All of the 1946 to 1956 Power Wagons had the tags held on by screws.
