Your neighbor has a large billboard that he erected in his yard to promote his interest and the local economy. The neighbor spent a great deal of effort and personal income to put this sign up. In order to keep this sign maintained he leases out small sections for others to advertise their products, services & goods for sale. Then along comes the guy in the neighborhood that nobody really likes & puts up a garage sale sign right in front of the billboard on your neighbors property. He didn’t purchase a spot on the sign…why would he…there is plenty of lawn for everyone. Problem is it isn’t his lawn is it? The property owner by all rights has the ability to remove the garage sale from his lawn. Obviously he is a very tolerable neighbor and puts up with the random trespasses on his property. Meanwhile you’re other neighbors that did purchase a spot on the billboard drive by daily and notice new garage sale signs in the lawn. Eventually even they consider boldly posting their own garage sale sign in the lawn. Ultimately everyone has signs in the stuck in the grass and the old billboard is looking decrepit. Your neighbor can no longer afford to repair the sign and grows tired of the trespassers….so he tears down the billboard, puts up a fence and locks the gate
