two types of govenors load limiting and speed limiting now > they way it used to be on boat or truck buss application you had a simple speed range ie detroit inline around 2400 and you just run up against the governer as far as speed goes >load limitor ie tractor loader back hoe ect you have a variable throttle range but under "load " not the speed the govenor forces the engine to maintain a some what constant speed and at at set repsonce time with in limits of the engine > constant speed govenors on electical gen sets such as a woodword psg on trains/back ups set as in hospitals ect can electronicaly govern the engine to generate a fully loaded speed with in plus or minus 20 rpm > i dont think you could /would have a problem with any diesil that bolts up no matter what the ?pump? is designed to operate . would be a good engine in MY power wagon a if you baling you never would have to adjust the throtttle once your under way > in other words you would have a constant speed engine > but hen again i am old and all this may have changed as a result of a micro chip thing > like in the tractor at the nieghbours turn on the key and "caution please wait till air ride seat has adjusted to your weight " theres a chip under your A$$ lmao ~ Copey
