I used the 3M sealer on the exterior seams of my A-100 van.The factory had no primer under the sealer,they had to get them out the door!I primed the seam first,applied the sealer,let it dry,and primed it again.I know you are not permanently sealing yours,you can probably just get away with the sealer for short term.
