Turn signal wiring question

I have a really nice 40s vintage turn signal switch that I am using on a project. It has 4 wires. It is just turn signals, no flashers.
So, one wire would be the power, and one would be left turn and one would be right turn. What would the 4th wire be? The rear turn signals will not be sharing the brake light filiments.
There is an indicator bulb, but that would not get its own wire.
