in a boat application, in ny with local fuel, shelf life is less than 4-5 months. common wisdom was to store boats full of fuel to keep tank condensation to a minimum. the new fuel with ethanol absorbs water and breaks down rubber parts. i have had fuel in a jerry can go bad in a couple of months. tried using it in several small engines with poor results. i always add stabil to my gas can now. i had my command car tank renued and only keep a couple of gallons in there. i top it up with good fresh fuel when i run it.
