You first need to determine which second series bed you have - early or late. I would assume early, as you mention 1951, but I can not be sure. Each has a unique shaped valence. I can not recite the differences as I have never owned one, but there has been much discussion on this Forum on the subject. I would suggest searching Phil's archives at www.t137.com.
To help narrow it down, does your bed wood reach rearward to the tailgate, over the top of the valence, or does it stop a couple inches ahead of the tailgate with the valence filling the gap? How many bed strips are on the floor of the bed?
