I had a 87 S10 Blazer that needed a clutch and the manual said to undue the body mounts and raise the body 3 inches to remove the transmission so i did it but later when I had to put in new trans I just trimmed the trans tunnel enough to clear the shifter and that was a whole lot easier. You dont have to follow the manuals word for word sometimes you just need to use your head!
